Join us for a fun and fitness day for everyone in the family at the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum! More than 350 kids participated in the 2012 Turkey Trot, and they all seemed to enjoy it.

Wylie Ryan's Most Excellent Turkey Trot (1.0 Km) is great for kids up to 11 years of age. It is also a super way for schools and clubs to raise funds for their own activity programs. Best of all, kids can enter for just $12.

Everyone gets a souvenir shirt (if you enter on time), a personalized bib number, a finisher's medal, an online certificate, refreshments, a timing chip, and a chance at one of the many draw prizes. Don't forget to bring Mom and Dad too, because you need a parent/guardian with you on site!

The start time is set, so the Mom's and Dad's who want to jog-a-long with the kids can do that, and still have time to run in their your own race ( marathon runners excepted).

wylie ryan fall half marathon for kids - for home and/or school
We are pleased to announce a fall program to get kids (ages 7-11) running regularly in the month before Wylie Ryan's Most Excellent Turkey Trot 1Km Run. The program is called the Wylie Ryan Fall Half Marathon for Kids, and is designed for use at home or school - monitored by parents and/or teachers.

Kids will run and track their running program in the month or so leading up to the Turkey Trot. They will have completed 20Km before the race, and add their 21st kilometre in 9, and complete the last 1Km of the 21Km half marathon distance at Wylie Ryan's Most Excellent Turkey Trot on October 7th. Those who complete the Half Marathon over that period of time, will receive a Wylie Ryan Fall Half Marathon Certificate and Half Marathon medal in a special ceremony after the Turkey Trot.

Click here to learn more about the program and to obtain your very own Wylie Ryan Fall Half Marathon Distance Log Book to get started.

championchip timing - by sportstats
We use ChampionChip Timing at all Somersault races. This timing system requires that all participants wear a ChampionChip Bracelet on their ankle during the race. This bracelet contains a computer chip that allows the kids to be timed.

The kids are responsible for obtaining their ChampionChip Bracelet on race morning from the timing people at the Sportstats Tent near the Finish Line.  Do this at least 30 minutes before their race - you will need their race number to obtain the chip.

The ChampionChip Bracelet must be returned immediately after the kids cross the finish line.  You are responsible for the bracelet cost if it is not returned - and it is expensive.

results - age as december 31, 2012
The kids personal results will be posted very soon after they finish the race.  Please check the results as soon as you can, to be sure they are accurate.  If  there are discrepancies, go to the Sportstats Van near the Finish Line and provide them with the information you think is correct.

Remember we use the participant's age at December 31, 2012 - not their race day age, for result purposes.

Results will be posted at http://www.somersault.ca/resultsrun.htm within 24 hours of the race.
