The Graham Beasley Triathlon & Duathlon is a fitting tribute to Graham Beasley, a fine athlete, husband, father and gentleman who left us too soon. Out of respect for Graham, all participants will participate in the Graham Beasley event, adhering to Graham's personal philosophy:

Compete hard, play fair, and applaud and respect fellow participants

We offer an event for everyone. We have the Try a Tri for the beginner or recreational participant. the Super Sprint Triathlon for the speed people, and the Olympic Triathlon for those who are slightly more fit. The Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon are also still there for those who are in between.

Look too, for the SwimCycle races - The SwimCycle race concept will be offered in the Sprint, and Olympic for those whose legs don't like running.

The event site is in Centennial Park, at the corner of McRostie St. and Joseph St. Please note that parking not allowed in the vicinity of Centennial Park or on the run or bike courses. Please park elsewhere.Park on side streets or in downtown Carleton Place and walk to Centennial Park

minimum age for triathlon, duathlon, & relay cycle leg participants

The minimum age for entrants in the Graham Beasley Triathlon, Duathlon, and the Cycle Leg of the Relays is 16 years.  We have added this minimum age to all Somersault Triathlons & Duathlons which are held on roads in which the cyclists share the road with motor vehicle traffic. On closed Parkways or roads that are closed to motor vehicle traffic, there will continue to be no minimum age.

Triathlon Relays are a fun feature of the GB.  It's a great way to ease into the season or go 'all out' at one discipline. Get a threesome (or a twosome) together for some fun and fitness!

try a try

It's back - and its for anyone who has always wanted to "Try a Tri" or those who don't want to be too competitive . Road bikes, Mountain bikes and Hybrid bikes are welcomed in this event.

super sprint triathlon
This category and race will be separate from the Try A Tri although the distances are similar. The Try A Tri is intended for the first timer, or recreational participant. The Super Sprint is geared to those who are more competitive but only want to go short and fast.

the olympic, and sprint swimcycles
We are offering the SwimCycle races again, at two distances.  Many have requested these races, because their knees, ankles and/or hips are not handling the running very well. Others like it as a tune up for an upcoming full length triathlon.

The SwimCycle races consist of the swim and the cycle portion of the Sprint, and Olympic Triathlons.  Those that enter these races will head to the Finish Line from the T-Zone after the cycle leg instead of completing the run leg.

Look for a banana, a bagel, water, and Gatorade at the finish line.

championchip timing
We use Sportstats ChampionChip Timing at all Somersault races.  This timing system requires that all participants wear a ChampionChip timing chip on your ankle during the race.  This ankle bracelet contains a computer chip that allows you to be timed.  You are responsible for obtaining your ChampionChip Bracelet on race morning from the timing people at the Sportstats Tent near the Finish Line.  Do this at least 30 minutes before your race - earlier is better!  Races will not be held up waiting for those who forgot their bracelet. You must return your ChampionChip Bracelet immediately after you cross the finish line.  You are responsible for the cost if it is not returned - and it is expensive.

your results (Age is as of December 31, 2013)

race info updates
We will email 2 weekly Graham Beasley Newsletters to participants with the latest updates prior to the race.  These newsletters are very important as they will identify changes, answer your questions and recommend race day procedures that will make your event day a better one.

Please provide an accessible email address on your entry form if you wish to receive these Newsletters. You may want to use a personal email address rather than your work email, because many employers utilize filters that will not let the Newsletter through.
